Events for 2021
A new calendar of events has been published but obviously is subject to any COVID restrictions that are in force at the time.
Club nights at the Swan in Alton will again resume as allowed, I will advise as we get into 2021.
The flying site is to re-open on the 2nd December.
When the site re-opens please follow these general rules when attending the site.
- On arrival park you car well away from other members cars.
- Maintain a minimum of 2 metres from any others at the site, we have plenty of room to spread ourselves out.
- Critically stay well away from the trees, to ensure you are not in a position to have to ask Ferris for help.
- Do not go to the shed for anything, thus avoiding touching anything that someone else has touched.
Enjoy any good weather but please keep to these restrictions to ensure you stay safe, the "News" article on this page has been taken directly from the main BMFA website.
The localised tier system has again been adjusted. Based on this guidance Model Flying Clubs in Tiers 1 to 4 can remain open; however, you are expected to operate in a Covid secure way. See https://clubsupport.bmfa.uk/6-steps-to-covid-secure
In Tier 4 the rule of 2 applies so you should not organise gatherings of more than 2 people. However, should more than 2 people independently attend a flying site this does not appear to be a breach of the regulations provided that they do not mingle.
HOWEVER FROM WEDNESDAY 6TH JANUARY THE WHOLE AREA IS IN LOCKDOWN AND THE ADVICE FROM THE BMFA IS THAT ALL MODEL FLYING SITES SHOULD NOW CLOSE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, WE HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW THAT ADVICE.
